This article carries on with our recent article on movies. With so many new movies coming up, it can be confusing to decide which one to watch. After all, you don’t want to waste your time on a bad movie!
Sit back and relax. This article will tell you what to watch, and more importantly, what to not watch.
This movie raked it in at the Oscars. Set in a jazz school, this movie tells the tale of one drummer and a teacher who pushes him on to become a legend. While some have criticized it for portraying the music scene in a bad light, this movie is more about the relationship between the two of them than it is about the music scene itself. The sound track is also kickass.
- Gone Girl
If you’re into thrillers, you simply cannot miss this one. Rosamund Pike puts in an amazing performance, while Ben Affleck is very convincing as a husband who is sick of his marriage. The movie goes through various twists and turns, and you will never be able to guess what’s going to happen next. For best results, watch it late at night, preferably alone. Don’t blame us if you get extremely scared.
- Imitation Game
Alan Turing’s influence upon modern computing cannot be underestimated. He came up with pretty much all the theory that drives the world today, and this movie is loosely based on a biography of him. It’s a period thriller, and Benedict Cumberbatch is wonderful as Alan Turing. Without going into any spoilers, it’s safe to say that Imitation Game is one of those movies that’ll keep you at the edge of your seat, and will leave you wondering as to what exactly happened.
- American Sniper
A biopic of the deadliest sniper in American military history, American Sniper is the life story of one of the deadliest men on the planet. Directed by Clint Eastwood, (Who can forget his do ya feel lucky punk line?) this movie profiles his life from when he was a boy to his career in the military. For anyone into army movies or to someone who is generally interested in the military, this movie is a must watch.
Same cast. Over 12 years of shooting. With a very innovative concept, Boyhood chronicles the life of a single family. While the story is not outstanding, the concept is. The same boy has been shot by camera for most of his life, and the script was modified and changed to suit how the cast changed. This won many Oscars, and deservedly so. Boyhood might set off a trend, but it remains to be seen if any of the others will be as good as the original.
That’s our list of five movies. But there are many more that can’t be covered in a single article. A good place to track more great movies would be the Oscars. Check them out, and if you’re done, move on to the Golden Globes.
